In the 38th minute, Joel Leiria left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mundurucus SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Alfredo Netto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Diogo Amaral made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Joel Leiria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mundurucus SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Leiria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diogo Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Paranaense was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Caietra got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Paranaense. Caietra's Luís Fábio Massa pulled a muscle in his leg after 55 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Alfredo Netto's late challenge caught a Caietra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredo Netto helped the player get up and apologised. In the 55th minute, Alfredo Netto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
