Betão Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 6th minute, Noel Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Toninho Vianna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvinho Corrêa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Betão Nascimento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rui Marques read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. After 14 minutes, Diogo Barros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cucui and the Cambuquira EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Cucui getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Diogo Barros hit a great ball. Rui Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silvinho Corrêa's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 21stth minute, Rui Marques skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Silvinho Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Marques having to interfere. Silvinho Corrêa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Rui Marques when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Silvinho Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 36 in the game by Silvinho Corrêa from a close distance when the talented Rui Marques managed to make a qualified save. Cambuquira EC's players were relieved. Silvinho Corrêa struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Rui Marques didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cucui. Silvinho Corrêa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cambuquira EC's Rui Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betão Nascimento in the 41st minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Betão Nascimento to make the kick off. The Cucui fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Cucui's Betão Nascimento looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Toninho Vianna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Sandro Lima made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Betão Nascimento in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rui Marques saved Cambuquira EC from getting behind. Toninho Vianna was extremely unlucky when he, in the 74th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 75th minute, Toninho Vianna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Francisco Teixeira kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Rui Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastião Nunes in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 85th minute Silvinho Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
