Vitinho do Nascimento hit a great ball. Sabino Romero might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jairo do Nascimento. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sabino Romero ran back to his position shaking his head. Sabino Romero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Jairo do Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jairo do Nascimento stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sabino Romero's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. With a little luck, Barcelona's Jairo do Nascimento got control of the ball when Kaká Matorin tried to sneak it across the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Joaquim Diniz notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Itas's Thiago dos Santos. Thiago dos Santos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Diniz in the 44th minute of play forced Itas's goalkeeper Thiago dos Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 played minutes, Barcelona's Dorival Magalhães shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Thiago dos Santos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Barcelona reached it. 47 minutes into the match, Itas's goal looked a bit too open when André Luiz de Azevedo came free, but Thiago dos Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sabino Romero to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Itas's goalkeeper Thiago dos Santos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by André Luiz de Azevedo. 54 minutes in the game, Joaquim Diniz fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Thiago dos Santos having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Andrézinho Baptista left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Thiago dos Santos was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Silvério Leal. 75 minutes into the match, Kaká Matorin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jairo do Nascimento. Barcelona's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kaká Matorin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. The audience was convinced that Sabino Romero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jairo do Nascimento was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Paulo José Massa hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. If Kaká Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jairo do Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaká Matorin in the 86th minute of the match. The supporters of Barcelona booed when Itas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrézinho Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Itas were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Barcelona for a fine match.
