Thiago dos Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arí das Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After 10 minutes, Diamantino Cerezo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Canarama and the Itas players grew even worse after the yellow card. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrézinho Baptista couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sabino Romero to make the kick off. Aníbal Rosa kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Itas's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eriberto Lima in the 67th minute. The corner led Itas's Eriberto Lima to fire away a dangerous shot which Adalmo Terra despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The Canarama fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Itas were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
