Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jairo Abreu in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adrianinho Cavalcante prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benjamin Recife received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Adrianinho Cavalcante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Papacaio FC's Adrianinho Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo Abreu in the 13th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Abreu in the 16th minute of play forced Papacaio FC's goalkeeper Adrianinho Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adrianinho Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Recife in the 19th minute of the match. Telmo Bastos succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 21st playminute. Panelas's Júnior da Costa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Panelas from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Papacaio FC's zone, Jairo Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrianinho Cavalcante came out of the goal and Jairo Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adrianinho Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Recife in the 36th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Jairo Abreu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

52 minutes into the match, Panelas's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro Galvão came free, but Júnior da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Júnior da Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Durval Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute Elói Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júnior da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Telmo Bastos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Júnior da Costa was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. In the 64th minute Jairo Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrianinho Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Álvaro Galvão came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Papacaio FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Álvaro Galvão couldn't finish the play. Papacaio FC's Telmo Bastos got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Benjamin Recife came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Panelas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Recife couldn't finish the play. After 74 minutes, Tarcisio Paranaense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Papacaio FC and the Panelas players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Papacaio FC's Tarcisio Paranaense got a free kick in the 74th minute. 78 minutes into the game, Elói Cunha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Júnior da Costa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Panelas booed when Papacaio FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Galvão didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Jairo Abreu took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Adrianinho Cavalcante to make any attempt to save it. In the 89th match minute, Papacaio FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yan Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Panelas getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Leandro Montenegro hit a great ball.
