Francisco Nóbrega hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Manolo Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Toninho Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brazopolis EC's Toninho Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manolo Moraes in the 24th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Saboga's Manolo Moraes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Toninho Fonseca narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 28th minute, Simão Catarinense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Saboga's Luiz Fernando Bittencourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simão Catarinense in the 31st minute of play. It was beautiful to see Brazopolis EC's José Damião in action when he in the 34th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Saboga's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Bittencourt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Rodolfo Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Adalberto Moura took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Toninho Fonseca. Toninho Fonseca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Toninho Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Peres in the 62nd minute of play. Luiz Fernando Bittencourt was a little too slow when Simão Catarinense got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 1-1. Manolo Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Toninho Fonseca came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Saboga's Rodolfo Peres. But to his dismay, Rodolfo Peres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Simão Catarinense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fernando Bittencourt having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manolo Moraes in the 85th minute of play forced Brazopolis EC's goalkeeper Toninho Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
