Dorival Pernambucano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurício Freire in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Pontao SC's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinho Queirós came free, but Lúcio Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Gonçalo Hames was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pontao SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jardinocolis the free kick. In the 20th match minute, Pontao SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonçalo Hames to maneuver through the defense. Mário de Andrade in the 21stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. When Mário de Andrade came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Jardinocolis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mário de Andrade couldn't finish the play.
