Gláuber Miranda kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. The referee gave Montezuma SC a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Carlos Augusto Massa, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Acioli SS's Agenor Braga. 0-1. Agenor Braga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amauri Viana in the 10th minute of play. Gláuber Miranda who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Ronaldinho Pimenta when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 14th minute Ricardinho Macedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldinho Pimenta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Acioli SS's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Favoretto came free, but Agenor Braga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute, Basílio Paes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Montezuma SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 24 minutes into the game, Montezuma SC's Fernando Favoretto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Agenor Braga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Agenor Braga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Favoretto in the 29th minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Fernando Favoretto made a precise shot to the right of Agenor Braga. Acioli SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. 36 minutes into the game, Rubens Leme was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Montezuma SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Acioli SS the free kick. In the 36th match minute, Montezuma SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubens Leme to maneuver through the defense. Ronaldinho Pimenta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The wind increased when Basílio Paes made the kick off in the second half. Montezuma SC's Ronaldinho Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silas da Mata in the 60th minute of play. Ronaldinho Pimenta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricardinho Macedo's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. After a rather tough play, Acioli SS's Anderson Rosado got a free kick in the 63rd minute. It was beautiful to see Montezuma SC's Carlos Augusto Massa in action when he in the 65th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! When Silas da Mata fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Acioli SS's protests and gave Silas da Mata a yellow card for diving instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ricardinho Macedo in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronaldinho Pimenta saved Montezuma SC from getting behind. Gláuber Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Acioli SS's Ricardinho Macedo in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Montezuma SC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 86th minute, Amauri Viana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Acioli SS's Silas da Mata got a free kick in the 89th minute. After having played for 91 minutes, Fernando Favoretto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montezuma SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernando Favoretto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 95th minute, Gláuber Miranda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronaldinho Pimenta was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. The Acioli SS supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Montezuma SC's performance. The match ended with a win for Montezuma SC.
