An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Abraão in the 4th minute of play forced Traripe's goalkeeper Luiz Paulo Mattos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augusto Abraão blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luiz Paulo Mattos having to make a save. Luiz Paulo Mattos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Augusto Abraão's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Samaniego Bugedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Paulo Mattos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Samaniego Bugedo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 14th minute, Traripe's Nestor Messias ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Felippe Prestes. Felippe Prestes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The audience was convinced that Augusto Abraão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luiz Paulo Mattos was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. 24 minutes into the match, Traripe's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Abraão came free, but Luiz Paulo Mattos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Deportivo De La Mata booed when Traripe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luiz Paulo Mattos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Augusto Abraão's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. The Deportivo De La Mata fans' excitement grew in the 47th match minute when Deportivo De La Mata's Augusto Abraão looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Augusto Abraão to strike the kick off in the second half. Luiz Paulo Mattos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jakub Urukalo, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 63 minutes into the game, when Chiquinho Andrade put in a rough tackle. In the 62nd minute, one of Deportivo De La Mata:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Deportivo De La Mata. In the 65th minute there was a penalty for Traripe. Nilson Vides stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Felippe Prestes. 2-3. When Augusto Abraão came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Deportivo De La Mata fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Abraão couldn't finish the play. Gabriel Oviedo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luiz Paulo Mattos. Traripe's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Felippe Prestes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Pedro Amorim in the 74th minute of play. Deportivo De La Mata's Samaniego Bugedo got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Deportivo De La Mata's Augusto Abraão was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 84th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. If Samaniego Bugedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augusto Abraão struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Luiz Paulo Mattos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo De La Mata. After a defensive mix-up in Traripe's zone, Samaniego Bugedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Paulo Mattos came out of the goal and Samaniego Bugedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Deportivo De La Mata played a much better game than Traripe and deserved their victory. The Traripe players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
