The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Aloísio Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Aloísio Bueno came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Luverdense Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aloísio Bueno couldn't finish the play. Gildo de Barros hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute, Luverdense Esporte Clube's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gildo de Barros fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Aloísio Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aloísio Bueno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nestor Ortiz struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Marcos Furtado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Luverdense Esporte Clube. Marcos Furtado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aloísio Bueno in the 26th minute of the match. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Luverdense Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Oséias Messias, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tomé de Alcântara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcos Furtado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aloísio Bueno in the 41st minute of play forced Acarape AD's goalkeeper Marcos Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomé de Alcântara's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Marcos Furtado firmly grabbed it by the left post. Nestor Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Celso Cordeiro's late challenge caught a Luverdense Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Celso Cordeiro helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Acarape AD's Celso Cordeiro got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Aloísio Bueno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute, Celso Cordeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Tomé de Alcântara came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Luverdense Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. In the 83rd minute Gildo de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oséias Messias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aloísio Bueno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Marcos Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Acarape AD players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
