The throw-in from Váldson Arantes in the 12th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Freire CFF's Jerônimo Simão. The supporters of Itapoa booed when Freire CFF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agenor Meireles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ivo Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. José Paulo Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Paulo Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivo Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agenor Meireles in the 36th minute of play forced Itapoa's goalkeeper José Paulo Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgard Neiva to make the kick off. After 54 played minutes Freire CFF got a freekick which was hit by Jaba Urushadze. The audience was convinced that Edgard Neiva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Caio Bastos was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. In the 56th minute, Jerônimo Simão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A long shot from Hélio Paulista in the 63rd minute of play was well struck, but José Paulo Medeiros made a really good save at the right post. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hugo Reis couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Freire CFF defense, Edgard Neiva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Caio Bastos. The Freire CFF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Caio Bastos should have stopped the shot. 77 minutes into the game, Itapoa's Edgard Neiva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Caio Bastos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Caio Bastos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgard Neiva's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Caio Bastos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdir de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
