Dudu Couto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Augusto Simão having to interfere. In the 15th minute Serafim Batista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erivaldo Gonçalves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Luizão Carioca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Erivaldo Gonçalves was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Marizopolis succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Raposas AD had controlled the match.
