Marizopolis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ituverava the free kick. Pedro Augusto Simão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaká Messias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Paulo José Hermes sped through Marizopolis's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pedro Augusto Simão. In the 38th match minute, Ituverava was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celsinho de Salles to maneuver through the defense. 43 minutes into the game, Paulo José Hermes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Pedro Augusto Simão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marizopolis's Pedro Augusto Simão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo José Hermes in the 47th minute of play.

Basílio Cerezo came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Marizopolis's Luizão Carioca. But to his dismay, Luizão Carioca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Kaká Messias in the 60thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Pedro Augusto Simão, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Pedro Augusto Simão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Celsinho de Salles's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. A collision led to Ituverava getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Celsinho de Salles hit a great ball. If Kaká Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kaká Messias struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Pedro Augusto Simão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ituverava. Pedro Augusto Simão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celsinho de Salles in the 79th minute of play. Paulo José Hermes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Pedro Augusto Simão made a huge save. Fred Soares hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Marizopolis were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after Ituverava's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Wanderson Donato took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Wanderson Donato got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Basílio Cerezo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberto Peres during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 91st minute, Alberto Peres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulo José Hermes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Augusto Simão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. In the 96th minute, Ituverava's Kaká Messias dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3.
