Gurgueia's Raimundo Rezende got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ramón de Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Didi Fontes in the 17th minute of the match. Gurgueia's Ramón de Sena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Gurgueia from getting a goal against them. If Víktor Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute Raimundo Rezende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro de Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teodoro Velasco came free with the goalkeeper in the 27th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ramón de Sena could save by the left post. 32 minutes into the match, Arassuai's Teodoro Velasco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ramón de Sena narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ronaldinho Guedes's late challenge caught a Arassuai's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gurgueia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arassuai the free kick. The supporters of Arassuai booed when Gurgueia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yan Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 48th minute Arassuai were awarded a corner. Gláuber Leal went to the cornerflag to take it. Cícero Lucas thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Ramón de Sena, a very annoying self made goal in the 49th minute which led to 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Pedro de Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Rezende in the 55th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Arassuai's Luiz Paulo Lima got a free kick in the 56th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Arassuai's goalkeeper Pedro de Sena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Víktor Loyola. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute, Didi Fontes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gurgueia's Ramón de Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Velasco in the 88th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Didi Fontes put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Ramón de Sena. Raimundo Rezende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 100th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
