Dedé Loureiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Walmyr Bertassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20thth minute of the game Marcelo Simão who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Joaneta SC's Walmyr Bertassi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Walmyr Bertassi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Simão in the 24th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maurício Prado during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Joaneta SC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Maurício Prado hit a great ball. The supporters of Joaneta SC booed when Marucupari FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamílton de Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Marcelo Simão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Walmyr Bertassi was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. With an all-out effort, Joaneta SC's Ronaldinho da Costa threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Maurício Prado, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Manoel Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Walmyr Bertassi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcelo Simão's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Dedé Loureiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Walmyr Bertassi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dedé Loureiro ran back to his position shaking his head. 63 minutes into the match, Joaneta SC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Simão came free, but Walmyr Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute, Marcelo Simão made a precise shot to the right of Walmyr Bertassi. Joaneta SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Ronaldinho da Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Baptista in the 73rd minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Oscar Mello dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Walmyr Bertassi, 0-3. Walmyr Bertassi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Marcelo Simão sped through Joaneta SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Walmyr Bertassi. The Marucupari FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
