Tiaguinho do Vale's late challenge caught a Feliciano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tiaguinho do Vale helped the player get up and apologised. Tiaguinho do Vale hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After 6 played minutes Rendinha got a freekick which was hit by Tiaguinho do Vale. Dráusio Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 8th minute, Aírton Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Antônio Ortiz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luiz Paulo da Silveira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Dráusio Alagoano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luiz Paulo da Silveira having to make a save. Feliciano's Antônio Ortiz got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Rendinha's Zé Romero got a free kick in the 21st minute. Luiz Paulo da Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Ortiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes into the match, Rendinha's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio Ortiz came free, but Luiz Paulo da Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Fabiano Trancoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilton Fontes having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Antônio Ortiz put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Luiz Paulo da Silveira. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Nicolas Massa took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilton Fontes. Wilton Fontes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After having played for 54 minutes, Nicolas Massa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rendinha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicolas Massa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wilton Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Massa, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. If Antônio Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd match minute, Rendinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiaguinho do Vale to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Rendinha's Aírton Lopes got a free kick in the 88th minute. After some careless play in the Feliciano defense, Aírton Lopes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilton Fontes. The Feliciano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilton Fontes should have stopped the shot. Feliciano were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
