One of FORMIGAZ:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Guaribas:s goal. 15 minutes into the match, Alfredinho Trevisan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vito Valle. FORMIGAZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfredinho Trevisan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Caio de Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Luiz Gustavo Catarinense hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Carlos Fernando Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. After 40 played minutes Guaribas got a freekick which was hit by Wágner de Andrade. Zé Carlos Amorim made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Belmiro Urbano sent off a good shot on target. In a very dangerous position, a player in FORMIGAZ fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 44th minute. Penalty! In the 45th minute there was a penalty for Guaribas. Moisés Rossi stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Vito Valle. 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Alfredinho Trevisan made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Guaribas booed when FORMIGAZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Gustavo Catarinense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vito Valle was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Moisés Rossi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredinho Trevisan in the 58th minute of play forced FORMIGAZ's goalkeeper Vito Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Alfredinho Trevisan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vito Valle made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfredinho Trevisan in the 64th minute. FORMIGAZ's Vito Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredinho Trevisan in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute Guaribas were awarded a corner. Moisés Rossi went to the cornerflag to take it. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Alfredinho Trevisan advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-4 in the 67th minute. With his leg Vito Valle managed to avoid a goal in the 70thth minute, when Guaribas's Carlos Fernando Cunha fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 74 minutes into the game, FORMIGAZ's Belmiro Urbano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Carlos Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. After 76 played minutes Guaribas got a freekick which was hit by Caio de Azevedo. Vito Valle made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Fernando Cunha in the 80th minute. After a rather tough play, FORMIGAZ's Luiz Gustavo Catarinense got a free kick in the 81st minute. Guaribas's Moisés Rossi shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 82nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Vito Valle but with some difficulty. Alfredinho Trevisan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 88 minutes into the match, FORMIGAZ's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredinho Trevisan came free, but Vito Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle went the supporters of Guaribas were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant FORMIGAZ side.
