In the 17th minute Dionísio Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ian Tepedino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geovanni Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Ian Tepedino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Geovanni Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Válbson Massa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Daniel Neto came out and tried to block the shot, but Válbson Massa slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 45th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Válbson Massa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the match, Lembranca's Geovanni Medeiros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ian Tepedino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Válbson Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Virgílio Jacinto hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. The supporters of Lembranca booed when Jaborandy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurício de Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Válbson Massa in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daniel Neto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Thanks to some nice moves Dionísio Salgado could shoot a difficult shot in the 91st minute, which Ian Tepedino however easily saved by the left post. Daniel Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldir Faustino in the 96th minute of play.
