Mocidade Napolitana's Célio Recife tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 7 minutes into the match, Mocidade Napolitana's goal looked a bit too open when Rony Passos came free, but Célio Recife reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ulysses Soares took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Célio Recife. Mocidade Napolitana's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rony Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Breno Bueno blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Célio Recife having to make a save. 16 minutes into the match, Mocidade Napolitana's goal looked a bit too open when Rony Passos came free, but Célio Recife reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Túlio Moreira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mocidade Napolitana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itapevi the free kick. After a rather tough play, Mocidade Napolitana's Túlio Moreira got a free kick in the 18th minute. Célio Recife was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Arlindo Sampaio. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Rony Passos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itapevi's supporters rose to their feet, but Rony Passos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Célio Recife breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Rony Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erivaldo de Almeida didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Narciso da Rocha went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Germano de Salles scored 1-2 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erivaldo de Almeida, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 35th minute, Breno Bueno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Germano de Salles in the 41st minute of play forced Itapevi's goalkeeper Erivaldo de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Germano de Salles was the one to do the kick off. Narciso da Rocha struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Erivaldo de Almeida didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mocidade Napolitana. 56 minutes into the match, Mocidade Napolitana's goal looked a bit too open when Breno Bueno came free, but Célio Recife reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rony Passos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 71stth minute of the game Breno Bueno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mocidade Napolitana's Célio Recife was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Cristóvão Breckenfeld's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Célio Recife was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. 2-2 became the score in the 74th minute when Rony Passos elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After having played for 81 minutes, Breno Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapevi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Breno Bueno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rony Passos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Célio Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute Breno Bueno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Célio Recife saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rony Passos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Célio Recife having to interfere. Túlio Moreira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erivaldo de Almeida read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. The supporters of Itapevi booed when Mocidade Napolitana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Itapevi were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
