Mané Campidelis hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute João Carlos Loureiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Armandinho Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling João Carlos Loureiro in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antônio Viana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Armandinho Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Antônio Viana made a huge save. After 33 played minutes Maraua got a freekick which was hit by Kiko Trigo. João Carlos Loureiro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Antônio Viana skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edvaldo Paulista stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Timorande FC's Nuno Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edvaldo Paulista in the 52nd minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 53rd minute of the game. One of Maraua:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Timorande FC:s goal. The referee gave Timorande FC a penalty, 55 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Duda Leal, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Maraua's Antônio Viana. 2-1. João Carlos Loureiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Viana having to interfere. Timorande FC's Duda Leal couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Maraua. Maraua's Antônio Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandro Sabóia in the 68th minute of play. Antônio Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Carlos Loureiro in the 70th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvaldo Paulista in the 81st minute of play forced Timorande FC's goalkeeper Nuno Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nuno Costa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edvaldo Paulista went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Antônio Viana came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Timorande FC's João Carlos Loureiro. But to his dismay, João Carlos Loureiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Timorande FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
