Tapiara's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dráuzio Cosme was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 23rd minute Fábio Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Délio Linares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gualter de Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Délio Linares made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Gualter de Medeiros sent off a good shot on target. In a very dangerous position, a player in Tapiara fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! In the 45th match minute, Tapiara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléber Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. When Moisés Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Taruma AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moisés Queirós couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Fábio Antunes made the kick off in the second half. Moisés Queirós took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Frédson Maciel. Frédson Maciel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. After 60 played minutes Taruma AD got a freekick which was hit by Armandinho Saldanha. A hard shot by Osmar Guimarães from long distance, 64 minutes into the match, got Frédson Maciel's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 69th minute, Tapiara's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Moisés Queirós fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Moisés Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Frédson Maciel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frédson Maciel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-7. Chiquinho dos Santos hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match.
