Cafemirim's Armandinho Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Róbson Vieira in the 5th minute of play. Róbson Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armandinho Goiano having to interfere. Armandinho Goiano was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Durval Paulista. Mutuca SS's Róbson Vieira got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. João Vítor Fontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Armandinho Goiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Róbson Vieira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armandinho Goiano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Róbson Vieira's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. 32 minutes into the game, Cafemirim's José Augusto Bittencourt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luiz Gustavo Alves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 39 minutes into the match, Cafemirim's goal looked a bit too open when Róbson Vieira came free, but Armandinho Goiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Augusto Bittencourt kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Armandinho Goiano was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Róbson Vieira showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 48 minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and José Augusto Bittencourt made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Mutuca SS's Róbson Vieira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Armandinho Goiano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 57 minutes into the match, Mutuca SS's Henrique Arantes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. Luiz Gustavo Alves was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but José Augusto Bittencourt showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 72 minute of play. Armandinho Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Róbson Vieira, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Durvalino Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armandinho Goiano having to interfere. Róbson Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 94 minutes, Róbson Vieira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mutuca SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Róbson Vieira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of Cafemirim:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mutuca SS:s goal. The referee gave Mutuca SS a penalty, 97 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Henrique Arantes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cafemirim's Armandinho Goiano. 3-2. Cafemirim's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
