With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walmyr Cosme prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Socamirim's Walmyr Cosme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jailson Veloso in the 28th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Alessandro Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ium's supporters rose to their feet, but Alessandro Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walmyr Cosme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Ium's zone, Raimundo Chaves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celso Queirós came out of the goal and Raimundo Chaves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Erik Dracena fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ium's protests and gave Erik Dracena a yellow card for diving instead. Erik Dracena hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. When Alessandro Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Ium fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alessandro Cunha couldn't finish the play. Gilberto Tande fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Queirós having to interfere.
