Bernardo Arotza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Albertinho Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Tucunzeiro SC defense, Kaká Melo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amadeu Passos. The Tucunzeiro SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amadeu Passos should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedrinho Teles in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amadeu Passos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Amadeu Passos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaká Melo, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Persia Fc's zone, Bernardo Arotza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim Paulista came out of the goal and Bernardo Arotza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bernardo Arotza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Persia Fc's Joaquim Paulista proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Persia Fc from getting a goal against them. Bernardo Arotza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Joaquim Paulista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eurico de Godoy kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 47th match minute, Tucunzeiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ediberto Mello to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bernardo Arotza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Tucunzeiro SC's zone, Kaká Melo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeu Passos came out of the goal and Kaká Melo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Tucunzeiro SC's Hílton Mazza got a free kick in the 54th minute. 55 minutes into the match, Persia Fc's Tostão Cruz broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Ediberto Mello charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ediberto Mello the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Tucunzeiro SC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Ediberto Mello hit a great ball. Amadeu Passos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaká Melo in the 67th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Reinier Zadelhoff during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 71 played minutes Tucunzeiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Reinier Zadelhoff. When Ediberto Mello was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 74 minutes had been played. Eliézer Couto's late challenge caught a Tucunzeiro SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliézer Couto helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Persia Fc getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Eliézer Couto hit a great ball. In the 91st minute Kaká Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Passos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Persia Fc's Eliézer Couto got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
