When Carlos Augusto de Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Galinhas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Augusto de Moraes couldn't finish the play. Jeremias Secco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. José Maria Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Tiago FC's goalkeeper José Maria Motta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Augusto de Moraes. In the 19th minute, Kauan Campidelis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Luiz Paraense came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Tiago FC fans jumped to their feet. After some careless play in the Galinhas defense, Cafu Dracena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vânderson Araújo. The Galinhas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vânderson Araújo should have stopped the shot. 27 minutes into the game, Carlos Augusto de Moraes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. José Maria Motta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Galinhas's Vânderson Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Paraense in the 30th minute of play. Amauri Guimarães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Galinhas's Narciso Linhares got a free kick in the 55th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Cafu Dracena could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Vânderson Araújo however easily saved by the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Augusto de Moraes in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Maria Motta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Tiago FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Paulão Saldanha hit a great ball. After 66 played minutes Tiago FC got a freekick which was hit by José Paulo Batista. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeremias Secco in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Maria Motta saved Tiago FC from getting behind. In the 76thth minute of the game Jeremias Secco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tiago FC's José Maria Motta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Tiago FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Augusto de Moraes came free, but José Maria Motta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Maria Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Augusto de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Galinhas's Jeremias Secco got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Tiago FC's zone, Carlos Augusto de Moraes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Maria Motta came out of the goal and Carlos Augusto de Moraes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Carlos Augusto de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
