Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Luís Loyola got the match started through his kick off. Cido Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Dráusio Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 6 minutes, Richard Nunes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bananal and the Lessa players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Lessa booed when Bananal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Lessa's Elder Lima got a free kick in the 7th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Lessa's zone, Paulo Araújo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dráusio Mendes came out of the goal and Paulo Araújo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Paulo Araújo came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Bananal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Araújo couldn't finish the play. Gil Garcia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Dráusio Mendes made a huge save. Cristian Quaresma blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabiano Seco having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Bananal's Richard Nunes got a free kick in the 27th minute. When Lessa's Luís Loyola in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bananal's goalie prevented a goal. In the 30th match minute, Lessa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flávio Matorin to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes into the match, Lessa's goalkeeper Dráusio Mendes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gil Garcia. The supporters of Bananal booed when Lessa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elder Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bananal's Gil Garcia got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute Paulo Araújo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dráusio Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gil Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lessa's Luís Loyola got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fabiano Seco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Quaresma in the 43rd minute of the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Paulo Araújo made the kick off in the second half. 2-1 became the score in the 51st minute when Paulo Araújo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Loyola in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabiano Seco saved Bananal from getting behind. 59 minutes into the game, Erivaldo Branco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lessa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bananal the free kick. Bananal's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Flávio Matorin scored to the left of an out of position Fabiano Seco, making the score, 2-2. Bananal's Fabiano Seco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Loyola in the 69th minute of play. After having played for 71 minutes, Paulo Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bananal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Araújo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Flávio Matorin hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Paulo Araújo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dráusio Mendes was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Dráusio Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gil Garcia in the 77th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Gil Garcia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bananal's supporters rose to their feet, but Gil Garcia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dráusio Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gil Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dráusio Mendes having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Araújo in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dráusio Mendes saved Lessa from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulo Araújo in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dráusio Mendes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luís Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Fabiano Seco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
