In the 20th minute, Esponjas do Couto's Túlio Passos seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Túlio Passos the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Esponjas do Couto protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Túlio Passos had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Esponjas do Couto:s Ulysses de Brito showed great skill when he stopped Vítor de Castro:s penalty.
