Tostão Lucas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Zé Roberto Lucas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Régis Brodel. That made the score 1-1 in the 14 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Caipe's zone, Diego Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Régis Brodel came out of the goal and Diego Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Róbson de Carvalho charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Róbson de Carvalho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hélio Ribeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonel Valle during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Pedro Massa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandrinho Neto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tostão Lucas in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Massa saved Pantanal from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Barros in the 44th minute of play forced Caipe's goalkeeper Régis Brodel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caipe's Régis Brodel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Barros in the 48th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diego Barros to make the kick off. After 54 minutes Caipe's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vítor de Castro who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Pantanal's Diego Barros getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 61st play minute Tostão Lucas came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Pedro Massa. 1-2. Zé Roberto Lucas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Régis Brodel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. If Sandrinho Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the match, Caipe's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Barros came free, but Régis Brodel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Pantanal booed when Caipe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Régis Brodel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vítor de Castro went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Caipe's Róbson de Carvalho got his second yellow card of the match in the 82nd minute. The referee ordered Róbson de Carvalho off the ground. Róbson de Carvalho hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Diego Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Régis Brodel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Caipe's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Barros came free, but Régis Brodel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hélio Ribeiro's late challenge caught a Pantanal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hélio Ribeiro helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Pantanal booed when Caipe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Régis Brodel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. A collision led to Caipe getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Eliézer Fonseca hit a great ball. Régis Brodel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Barros in the 99th minute of the match. The Caipe players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Pantanal from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
