Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Lapa SS's Egídio Seco started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frank Alagoano during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 4th minute, Frank Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Lapa SS booed when Pantanal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joélson Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Diego Barros in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edu Cearense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Egídio Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Pedro Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st match minute, Pantanal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Prestes to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute Diego Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edu Cearense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edu Cearense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zé Roberto Lucas's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute, Frank Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the match, Zé Roberto Lucas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edu Cearense. Lapa SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zé Roberto Lucas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Edu Cearense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Roberto Lucas in the 32nd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the game, Lapa SS's João Seco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Massa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. When Egídio Seco came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Lapa SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Egídio Seco couldn't finish the play. Pantanal's Zé Roberto Lucas got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edu Cearense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Barros in the 44th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Diego Barros made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Pantanal defense, Egídio Seco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Massa. The Pantanal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Massa should have stopped the shot. 58 minutes in the game, Diego Barros fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Edu Cearense having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Lapa SS's zone, Diego Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edu Cearense came out of the goal and Diego Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 72nd minute Diego Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edu Cearense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Zé Roberto Lucas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pantanal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Barros in the 79th minute of play forced Lapa SS's goalkeeper Edu Cearense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zézinho Braga hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Pedro Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcinho Mandrak in the 84th minute of play. João Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Diego Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Roberto Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edu Cearense having to interfere. In the 94th minute Egídio Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diego Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edu Cearense having to interfere.
