Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Christiano Freire got the match started through his kick off. In the 4th minute, Haroldo Carneiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cícero Rossi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When Noel Branco came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Cataguases fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Noel Branco couldn't finish the play. Bebeto Maranhense's late challenge caught a Cataguases's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bebeto Maranhense helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Flecheira FC's Bebeto Maranhense got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Flecheira FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Elói de Andrade scored to the left of an out of position Arí Romero, making the score, 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Noel Branco got free with Arí Romero in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 29 minutes into the match, Flecheira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Noel Branco came free, but Arí Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cataguases's Cícero Rossi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christiano Freire in the 31st minute of play. After having played for 32 minutes, Christiano Freire managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flecheira FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christiano Freire was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elói de Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arí Romero having to interfere. Evandro Peixoto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Arí Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Noel Branco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Haroldo Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute, Flecheira FC's Christiano Freire ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cícero Rossi. Cícero Rossi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. 61 minutes into the match, Cataguases's goalkeeper Cícero Rossi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Haroldo Carneiro. Elói de Andrade's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arí Romero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Elói de Andrade took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arí Romero. Arí Romero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Arí Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noel Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Haroldo Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero Rossi having to interfere. Cícero Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christiano Freire, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christiano Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero Rossi having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Flecheira FC's Christiano Freire sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cícero Rossi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Cataguases booed when Flecheira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Augusto Paraibano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cataguases's Didi Alvarenga couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 94th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Flecheira FC. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Flecheira FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
