Guga de Moraes's late challenge caught a Imprensa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guga de Moraes helped the player get up and apologised. Guga de Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Sebastião Guimarães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. David Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Cido Pombal fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.R. FLAMENGO - RJ's protests and gave Cido Pombal a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to C.R. FLAMENGO - RJ getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Cido Pombal hit a great ball. Sebastião Guimarães struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. David Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.R. FLAMENGO - RJ. David Saldanha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guga de Moraes in the 30th minute of the match. In the 33rd minute Sebastião Guimarães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Luisinho Brasil's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Priidik Õis was relentless in the 39th minute of the game.
