Luiz Fernando Vergílio's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 3rdth minute, Ivo Hames skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 5 played minutes Arapapa FC got a freekick which was hit by Raí Berger. After 7 minutes, Walmyr Ferreira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arapapa FC and the Itapora SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th match minute, Arapapa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmyr Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. Reinaldo Ribeiro hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Itapora SS's Paulo José Prado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Vander in the 15th minute of play. Humberto de Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Hames having to interfere. A collision led to Itapora SS getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Humberto de Souza hit a great ball. Reinaldo Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Hames having to interfere. Luiz Fernando Vergílio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Hames having to interfere. Raí Berger's late challenge caught a Itapora SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raí Berger helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th match minute, Arapapa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raí Berger to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Itapora SS's Humberto de Souza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ivo Hames. That made the score 1-0 after 28 minutes of play. Humberto de Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ivo Hames tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliézer Sergipano got free with Ivo Hames in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 41st minute, Itapora SS's Luiz Fernando Vergílio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ivo Hames. Ivo Hames yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Eliézer Sergipano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Hames having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luiz Fernando Vergílio to make the kick off. Luiz Fernando Vergílio took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivo Hames. Ivo Hames dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fernando Vergílio in the 61st minute of play forced Arapapa FC's goalkeeper Ivo Hames to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Arapapa FC's zone, Humberto de Souza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivo Hames came out of the goal and Humberto de Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 64th match minute, Arapapa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raí Berger to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Arapapa FC's Luís Fabiano Goiano got a free kick in the 65th minute. If Luiz Fernando Vergílio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivo Hames took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliézer Sergipano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Arapapa FC's zone, Humberto de Souza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivo Hames came out of the goal and Humberto de Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Luiz Fernando Vergílio came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Itapora SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Fernando Vergílio couldn't finish the play. The Itapora SS fans' excitement grew in the 76th match minute when Itapora SS's Humberto de Souza looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 79 minutes into the match, Luiz Fernando Vergílio notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Arapapa FC's Ivo Hames. Ivo Hames was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 83 played minutes, Itapora SS's Marcelo Coutinho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ivo Hames came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Itapora SS reached it. In the 84th minute, Walmyr Ferreira reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Paulo José Prado. The goal made the score 7-1. Luiz Paulo Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Itapora SS's Eliézer Sergipano got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 93 minutes, Luiz Fernando Vergílio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapora SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Fernando Vergílio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Itapora SS walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
