André Oliveira hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Dagoberto Mattos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldemar Vieira having to interfere. When José Maria Furtado came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the ONZE GUEREIROS F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Maria Furtado couldn't finish the play. Dagoberto Mattos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Waldemar Vieira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Mont Serrat E.C's zone, Alan Quintal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldemar Vieira came out of the goal and Alan Quintal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Mont Serrat E.C's Oscar Paiva got a free kick in the 37th minute. Alan Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Mont Serrat E.C's Dalmo Maciel got a free kick in the 41st minute. If Dagoberto Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dagoberto Mattos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Waldemar Vieira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Gonçalves in the 59th minute of play forced ONZE GUEREIROS F.C's goalkeeper Christian Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Maria Furtado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 64 played minutes Mont Serrat E.C got a freekick which was hit by Edmundo de Mendonça. Christian Dias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Mont Serrat E.C's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Barreto came free, but Waldemar Vieira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. ONZE GUEREIROS F.C were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
