Belmiro Pontes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Romário Salgado went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 9th match minute, Jaburuzinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Mesquita to maneuver through the defense. 12 minutes into the game, Heitor Azevedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Albertinho Xavier was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romário Salgado in the 15th minute of play forced Marecas's goalkeeper Belmiro Pontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Imre Vermes in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albertinho Xavier saved Jaburuzinho from getting behind. Marecas's Belmiro Pontes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Marecas from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heitor Azevedo in the 23rd minute of play forced Jaburuzinho's goalkeeper Albertinho Xavier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 30 played minutes Jaburuzinho got a freekick which was hit by Oséias Motta. Heitor Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Albertinho Xavier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Belmiro Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franklin Arruda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oséias Motta came free with the goalkeeper in the 42nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Belmiro Pontes could save by the left post. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jaburuzinho's goalkeeper Albertinho Xavier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Imre Vermes to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Jaburuzinho getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Armindo Peixoto hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Imre Vermes got free with Albertinho Xavier in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dobromir Bilicki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marecas's Belmiro Pontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorival Eger in the 63rd minute of play. Belmiro Pontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorival Eger, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. 76 minutes into the match, Marecas's goal looked a bit too open when Franklin Arruda came free, but Belmiro Pontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marecas's Belmiro Pontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romário Salgado in the 80th minute of play. After 81 played minutes Marecas got a freekick which was hit by Nilmar Monteiro. 83 minutes into the match, Jaburuzinho's goalkeeper Albertinho Xavier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dobromir Bilicki. 86 minutes into the match, Franklin Arruda notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Marecas's Belmiro Pontes. Belmiro Pontes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 96th minute, Marecas's Agnaldo Rosa seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Agnaldo Rosa the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Marecas protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Agnaldo Rosa had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
