Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Cacá Hames took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 5th match minute, Morretes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugênio Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Timorande booed when Morretes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugênio Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Cacá Hames kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving André Luiz Ortiz. That made the score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelinho Simões in the 19th minute of play forced Morretes's goalkeeper Cláudio Cearense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cláudio Cearense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Didi Mendonça in the 24th minute of the match. André Luiz Ortiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cacá Hames, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Raimundo Pernambucano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Timorande's supporters rose to their feet, but Raimundo Pernambucano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cláudio Cearense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cláudio Cearense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcelinho Simões's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Custódio Vasconcelos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Luiz Ortiz having to interfere. If Marcelinho Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the match, Marcelinho Simões had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cláudio Cearense. Morretes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelinho Simões was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Cláudio Cearense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelinho Simões in the 44th minute of play. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

54 minutes into the match, Nilson Valle sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Cláudio Cearense threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Nilson Valle this time. Egídio Veloso hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Raimundo Pernambucano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Cláudio Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Timorande's Marcelinho Simões in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Morretes's goalie prevented a goal. In the 69th minute, Raimundo Pernambucano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelinho Simões in the 71st minute of play forced Morretes's goalkeeper Cláudio Cearense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelinho Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio Cearense having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raimundo Pernambucano got free with Cláudio Cearense in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcelinho Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Cláudio Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Raimundo Pernambucano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. André Luiz Ortiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Custódio Vasconcelos in the 89th minute of play. Marcelinho Simões was extremely unlucky when he, in the 94th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Timorande players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
