Diego Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benedito Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrício Cordeiro having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Virginopolis's Diego Ribeiro got a free kick in the 21st minute. Téo Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diego Ribeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Fabiano Carvalho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Luís Fabiano Carvalho was a little too slow when Téo Valadares got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 2-0. Diego Ribeiro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 37thth minute, Luís Fabiano Carvalho skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Téo Valadares came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Virginopolis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Téo Valadares couldn't finish the play. 40 minutes into the match, Valoes EC's goalkeeper Luís Fabiano Carvalho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Diego Ribeiro. Durval Marques hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The wind increased when Téo Valadares made the kick off in the second half. Virginopolis's Diego Ribeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Téo Valadares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luís Fabiano Carvalho having to make a save. Luís Fabiano Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 59th play minute Mauro Ortiz came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Patrício Cordeiro. 2-1. Luís Fabiano Carvalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Ribeiro in the 62nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Valoes EC's Eliézer Pena got a free kick in the 66th minute. Luís Fabiano Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Téo Valadares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Téo Valadares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Luís Fabiano Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Fabiano Carvalho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Téo Valadares's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Diego Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fabiano Carvalho having to interfere. In the 92nd minute Téo Valadares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fabiano Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Valoes EC's goal looked a bit too open when Téo Valadares came free, but Luís Fabiano Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 95 minutes into the game, Paulo Paiva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Valoes EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Virginopolis the free kick. Diego Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fabiano Carvalho having to interfere.
