In the 8th minute Guilherme Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laerte Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Augusto Severo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Rubens Sampaio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Laerte Simões. That made the score 2-0 in the 31 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Naru EC's zone, Jerônimo Fernandez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Augusto Severo came out of the goal and Jerônimo Fernandez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tranquera's Laerte Simões proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Tranquera from getting a goal against them. In the 43rd minute, Clóvis Coutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Samuel Tavares made the kick off in the second half. Jerônimo Fernandez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Augusto Severo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerônimo Fernandez in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Augusto Severo saved Naru EC from getting behind. Jerônimo Fernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. João Augusto Severo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Donato Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute Jerônimo Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Augusto Severo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Naru EC's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Linhares came free, but João Augusto Severo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jerônimo Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Donato Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laerte Simões was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Naru EC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
