Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Léo Teles got the match started through his kick off. In the 7thth minute of the game Léo Teles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Saint FC's Noel Brodel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gilvan Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Paulão Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gilvan Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulão Cerezo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilvan Medeiros in the 13th minute of play. Luís Fabiano Couto's late challenge caught a Lavras FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Fabiano Couto helped the player get up and apologised. In the 14th minute, Luís Fabiano Couto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the game, Léo Teles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Noel Brodel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gilvan Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 30 minutes, Frederico Marquez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lavras FC and the Saint FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Lavras FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Frederico Marquez hit a great ball. In the 31st minute Gilvan Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulão Cerezo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Augusto Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Noel Brodel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Lavras FC's zone, Gilvan Medeiros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulão Cerezo came out of the goal and Gilvan Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute, Aníbal Couto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Gilvan Medeiros came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Saint FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilvan Medeiros couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gilvan Medeiros made a kick off. Paulão Cerezo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilvan Medeiros in the 51st minute of play. In the 53rd minute Saint FC were awarded a corner. Vito Vianna went to the cornerflag to take it. Paulão Cerezo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gilvan Medeiros showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 58 minute of play. Aníbal Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute Gilvan Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulão Cerezo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Gilvan Medeiros dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Paulão Cerezo, 1-2. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Lavras FC's goalkeeper Paulão Cerezo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 74 minutes into the match, Aníbal Couto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulão Cerezo. Lavras FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aníbal Couto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Paulão Cerezo came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Saint FC's Aníbal Couto. But to his dismay, Aníbal Couto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Léo Teles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Noel Brodel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Zé Augusto Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Léo Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lavras FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Léo Teles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Noel Brodel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 91 minutes into the match, Olavo de Souza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulão Cerezo. Lavras FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olavo de Souza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. Saint FC's Aníbal Couto pulled a muscle in his leg after 95 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 96th match minute, Lavras FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vivaldo Urbano to maneuver through the defense. Saint FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
