Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Wilton Dante kicked off to start the match. Armandinho Arósio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 5th minute, Agostinho Prata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Acácio Oliveira struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Simão Valadares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ponte preta. The supporters of Ponte preta booed when Carim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chico Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardinho Leão got in the 12th minute the ball and tried a long shot which scored to the left of Simão Valadares and thus it was 1-0. 20 minutes into the match, Wilton Dante had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of João Paulo Varela. Ponte preta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilton Dante was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Acácio Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Simão Valadares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 25 minutes of play, Carim's Wilton Dante made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. João Paulo Varela was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 31st minute Acácio Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simão Valadares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th match minute, Carim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chico Machado to maneuver through the defense. The Ponte preta players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Carim were winning 1-2.

Simão Valadares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Acácio Oliveira in the 51st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Carim's Chico Machado got a free kick in the 53rd minute. When Dinei Mota came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Ponte preta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dinei Mota couldn't finish the play. Chico Machado struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. João Paulo Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carim. Wilton Dante recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Juvenal Velloso charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juvenal Velloso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Ponte preta's Juvenal Velloso got a free kick in the 68th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Carim's zone, Acácio Oliveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simão Valadares came out of the goal and Acácio Oliveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wilton Dante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. João Paulo Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Carim getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Wilton Dante hit a great ball. Armandinho Arósios short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got João Paulo Varela to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dinei Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão Valadares having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Armandinho Arósio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carim's supporters rose to their feet, but Armandinho Arósio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Paulo Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Carim's Agostinho Prata got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Acácio Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th match minute, Carim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frédson Sergipano to maneuver through the defense. It was beautiful to see Ponte preta's Ricardinho Leão in action when he in the 97th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Carim had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
