After 4 minutes, Lino de Barros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tomasina AD and the Itanhum SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 4th minute, Lino de Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8th minute, one of Tomasina AD:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tomasina AD. Tomasina AD:s Rodrigo Prestes showed great skill when he stopped Nilton Vasconcelos:s penalty. If Abelardo Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12th minute, Genílson Sampaio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abelardo Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Prestes having to interfere. Fábio Salgado kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. If Abelardo Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute, Marcel Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st match minute, Tomasina AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válter Faria to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Tomasina AD getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Lino de Barros hit a great ball. Rodrigo Prestes acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 37th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Nilton Vasconcelos. Rodrigo Prestes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gugu Zilles in the 38th minute of the match. Tomasina AD's Rodrigo Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simão Galvão in the 40th minute of play. Rodrigo Prestes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abelardo Perez in the 45th minute. In the 47th minute, Simão Galvão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcel Marinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Marcel Marinho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benê Salgado. Marcel Marinho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. With an all-out effort, Tomasina AD's Benê Salgado threw himself towards the right post 60 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marcel Marinho, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 63 played minutes Tomasina AD got a freekick which was hit by Richard Albuquerque. Rodrigo Prestes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelardo Perez in the 73rd minute of the match. Benê Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilson de Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benê Salgado made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Gilson de Almeida sent off a good shot on target. Simão Galvão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Itanhum SC defense, Gilson de Almeida kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benê Salgado. The Itanhum SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benê Salgado should have stopped the shot. Chants of Tomasina AD echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Itanhum SC had held the ball for most of the match.
