Exclamação de Athena's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kléber da Cunha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The supporters of Mucuitu AD booed when Exclamação de Athena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valério Fernandes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 41 played minutes Mucuitu AD got a freekick which was hit by Ian de Queirós. The crowd rose to their feet as Exclamação de Athena's Marcus Batista slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rafinha da Silva. That made the score 2-2 after 44 minutes of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eurico Secco during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rubens Arantes to strike the kick off in the second half. Zé Carlos Simões showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubens Arantes in the 62nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Exclamação de Athena's zone, Rubens Arantes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sérgio Leal kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Exclamação de Athena's Valério Fernandes couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 66th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Mucuitu AD. After a defensive mix-up in Mucuitu AD's zone, Marcus Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafinha da Silva came out of the goal and Marcus Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 81st match minute, Mucuitu AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sérgio Leal to maneuver through the defense. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mucuitu AD would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
