But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dorian Branco couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice moves Arlindo Vasconcelos could shoot a difficult shot in the 33rd minute, which Gil Vergílio however easily saved by the left post. Gil Vergílio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Eduardo Donatello's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute, Erivaldo Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Cauã Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. There was no doubt that Cidade Nova Clube were the better team. Cidade Nova Clube's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
