In the 12th match minute, Alcobaco SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Augusto Andrade to maneuver through the defense. Gilson Madureira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Cléberson Breckenfeld tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 19 minutes, José Augusto Andrade mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alcobaco SC and the Pune players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 19th minute, José Augusto Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20th minute, Delfim Matorin sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Alcobaco SC's Cléberson Breckenfeld didn't even have to move. After a rather tough play, Alcobaco SC's Roger Marques got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute Geovani Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cléberson Breckenfeld saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geovani Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Cléberson Breckenfeld tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cléberson Breckenfeld made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilson Madureira in the 36th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovani Oliveira in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cléberson Breckenfeld saved Alcobaco SC from getting behind. 48 minutes into the match, Pune's Gilson Madureira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cléberson Breckenfeld narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geovani Oliveira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Geovani Oliveira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pune fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Geovani Oliveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pune's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovani Oliveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cléberson Breckenfeld breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cléberson Breckenfeld made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Gilson Madureira sent off a good shot on target. Geovani Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cléberson Breckenfeld having to interfere. Edinho Fantini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugênio da Mata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Alcobaco SC's Cléberson Breckenfeld got control of the ball when Gilson Madureira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pune's Edinho Fantini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugênio da Mata in the 94th minute of play.
