Glauco Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorginho Faria in the 8th minute of the match. The referee ignored Chambica FC's protests and gave Luís Paulo Leme a yellow card for diving instead. 21 minutes in the game, Róbson de Sena dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. The supporters of Guararu booed when Chambica FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edson Vander didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jorginho Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Jorginho Faria came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Chambica FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorginho Faria couldn't finish the play. Luís Paulo Leme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Tarcisio Vander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guararu's Flávio Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jorginho Faria stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Guararu's zone, Luís Paulo Leme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Glauco Machado came out of the goal and Luís Paulo Leme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Flávio Moraes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Róbson de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Guararu's Digo Urbano got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Luís Paulo Leme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Glauco Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Guararu getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Ramón Reis hit a great ball. Glauco Machado was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Tarcisio Vander. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Jorginho Faria took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Glauco Machado to make any attempt to save it. If Luís Paulo Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Glauco Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorginho Faria in the 92nd minute of the match. Mathias da Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Proença having to interfere. Emerson Proença took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Róbson de Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Chambica FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
