Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Reinaldo Prata kicked off to start the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Reinaldo Prata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Umburuna's supporters rose to their feet, but Reinaldo Prata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastião Viana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 11 minutes into the match, Manfredo Porto notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Umburuna's Joel Favoretto. Joel Favoretto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Manfredo Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute, Reinaldo Prata made a precise shot to the right of Sebastião Viana. Mapixi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 27 minutes into the game, Mapixi's Manfredo Porto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joel Favoretto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Joel Favoretto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romário Travassos in the 31st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Mapixi's zone, Nuno Toledo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastião Viana came out of the goal and Nuno Toledo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reinaldo Prata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sebastião Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Toledo in the 35th minute of play. Reinaldo Prata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastião Viana having to interfere. Reinaldo Prata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Sebastião Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manfredo Porto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Reinaldo Prata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Sebastião Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Umburuna's zone, Anísio Moura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Favoretto came out of the goal and Anísio Moura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Nuno Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Umburuna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nuno Toledo couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Umburuna booed when Mapixi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinei Brasil didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 92 minutes, Reinaldo Prata managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Umburuna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reinaldo Prata was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Manoel Couto was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Mapixi were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Umburuna's much stronger midfield.
