After a rather tough play, Mandacaia FC's Geovani Luz got a free kick in the 2nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olívio Ferraz during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Mandacaia FC booed when Trahyras SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olívio Ferraz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Mandacaia FC defense, Alexandre Alvarenga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Haroldo Rocha. The Mandacaia FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Haroldo Rocha should have stopped the shot. If Olívio Ferraz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sandrinho Santana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Haroldo Rocha made a huge save. After having played for 23 minutes, Sandrinho Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trahyras SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandrinho Santana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 28thth minute of the game Gustavo Berger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Trahyras SS's João Carlos de Almeida was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. João Carlos de Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dedé Paulista was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Gustavo Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mandacaia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustavo Berger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Trahyras SS's zone, Dedé Paulista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Carlos de Almeida came out of the goal and Dedé Paulista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Dedé Paulista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Carlos de Almeida was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Mandacaia FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kiko Leite in the 58th minute. Mandacaia FC were awarded a corner in the 60th minute after Trahyras SS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kiko Leite took the corner. With an all-out effort, Mandacaia FC's João Carlos de Almeida threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dedé Paulista, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 69th match minute, Mandacaia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Carlos Carioca to maneuver through the defense. Gustavo Berger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 79 played minutes Mandacaia FC got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Garcia. In the 82nd minute of the match Trahyras SS got a corner. Mandacaia FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wágner Melo ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, Mandacaia FC's João Carlos Carioca got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Haroldo Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandrinho Santana in the 90th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Flávio Urbano during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 97 played minutes Trahyras SS got a freekick which was hit by Flávio Urbano. The corner led Mandacaia FC's Kiko Leite to fire away a dangerous shot which João Carlos de Almeida despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Mandacaia FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
