Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dedé Paulista took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a rather tough play, Freire's Duarte Mandrak got a free kick in the 3rd minute. The supporters of Mandacaia FC booed when Freire was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tião Quadros didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, João Carlos Carioca notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Freire's Pedrão Quintal. Pedrão Quintal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pedrão Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Carlos Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute Gustavo Berger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrão Quintal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute of the match Geovani Luz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pedrão Quintal showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armindo Loureiro got free with Haroldo Rocha in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Belchior Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Belchior Neto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haroldo Rocha having to interfere. Haroldo Rocha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jerônimo Lira in the 28th minute. When Armindo Loureiro came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Freire fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armindo Loureiro couldn't finish the play. Armindo Loureiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Haroldo Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The wind increased when Jerônimo Lira made the kick off in the second half. Freire's Armindo Loureiro got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedrão Quintal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustavo Berger in the 62nd minute. Armindo Loureiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, Mandacaia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jerônimo Lira came free, but Haroldo Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Carlos Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrão Quintal having to interfere. In the 73rd play minute Gustavo Berger came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Pedrão Quintal. 1-2. Roberto Luz's late challenge caught a Freire's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roberto Luz helped the player get up and apologised. Armindo Loureiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Haroldo Rocha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute, Luís Fernando Rosado fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 85 minutes into the match, Freire's goal looked a bit too open when Dedé Paulista came free, but Pedrão Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jerônimo Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haroldo Rocha having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of Mandacaia FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Freire:s goal. The referee gave Freire a penalty, 91 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sydney Mendes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mandacaia FC's Haroldo Rocha. 2-2. With a little luck, Freire's Pedrão Quintal got control of the ball when Gustavo Berger tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Freire players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
