Diamantino Mandrak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerônimo Catarinense having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Claudinho Rosado kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jerônimo Catarinense. That made the score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. In the 13thth minute of the game Narciso Velasco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but santos fc's Percy Custódio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Oscar Pimenta fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mascote's protests and gave Oscar Pimenta a yellow card for diving instead. Oscar Pimenta hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. If Claudinho Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jerônimo Catarinense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diamantino Mandrak in the 24th minute. Claudinho Rosado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Claudinho Rosado took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Jerônimo Catarinense to make any attempt to save it. Percy Custódio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jerônimo Palmeira's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. 46 minutes into the match, Mascote's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinho Rosado came free, but Jerônimo Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jerônimo Palmeira made a kick off. If Diamantino Mandrak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
