Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Artur Figueiredo came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Janari's Leonel Barros. But to his dismay, Leonel Barros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Janari's Narciso Prado got a free kick in the 13th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Janari's goal looked a bit too open when Mazinho Fonseca came free, but Celso Palmeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonel Barros blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Artur Figueiredo having to make a save. Ismael Gerber struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Celso Palmeira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ipiranga. Ismael Nóbrega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Artur Figueiredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ismael Nóbrega in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Artur Figueiredo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Leonel Barros blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Artur Figueiredo having to make a save. When Ismael Nóbrega came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Janari fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ismael Nóbrega couldn't finish the play. When Conrado da Cunha fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ipiranga's protests and gave Conrado da Cunha a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st minute, Conrado da Cunha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ismael Nóbrega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Artur Figueiredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Ismael Gerber in the 52nd minute of play forced Janari's goalkeeper Celso Palmeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Janari booed when Ipiranga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 65 minutes, Ismael Nóbrega managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Janari's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ismael Nóbrega was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Ipiranga's Gilberto Falcão got a free kick in the 67th minute. Leonel Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Artur Figueiredo made a huge save. 81 minutes into the game, Luizinho Cardoso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ipiranga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Janari the free kick. In the 81st minute, one of Ipiranga:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ipiranga. In the 83rd minute there was a penalty for Janari. Eurico da Rocha stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Artur Figueiredo. 0-3. Conrado da Cunha hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Ismael Nóbrega recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Leonel Barros came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Janari fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonel Barros couldn't finish the play.
