Dragões EC's João Pedro Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Goiano in the 3rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Marcus Goiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Placa SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcus Goiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Pedro Freire breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kauã Melo in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Pedro Freire prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 12 minutes into the match, Dragões EC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Goiano came free, but João Pedro Freire reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Fernandão da Rocha had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bruninho de Brito during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 14 played minutes Placa SC got a freekick which was hit by Bruninho de Brito. Célio Tavares's late challenge caught a Placa SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The supporters of Dragões EC booed when Placa SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruninho de Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute Alfredo Prado saw that he had a good position to shoot and he shot a long ball on target, but the ball went just outside the left post. With a little luck, Placa SC's Sandrinho Tinoco got control of the ball when Luiz Paulo Lara tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodriguinho Cardozo during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After having played for 90 minutes, Kauã Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Placa SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kauã Melo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luiz Paulo Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Sandrinho Tinoco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
